Veiled Country: I Made Friends Through Prayer

When my husband and I moved to our new city to work as tentmakers in a veiled country, our goal was to mingle with people, build friendships, and share Jesus’ love.

We settled into a house in a small village close to my husband’s work. We were excited to become friends with our neighbors. But this didn’t happen quickly enough for me. While my husband was at work, I had a lot of time in the house alone.

One day, I thought to myself, I didn’t come all the way here just to sit in the house! I talked with a friend on the phone about my loneliness and discouragement. She suggested that we pray and trust that God would provide the solution. Afterward, I decided to take a short walk in front of my house. I don’t know how this happened, but within minutes, I was sitting with a group of 15 village women. God had answered my friend’s prayer immediately!

Over the next two years, my relationships with these women deepened as we spent time together. I was able to help them with health challenges and marriage problems, while planting spiritual seeds of truth. When I prayed with my friend, I couldn’t imagine what a big difference that prayer would make!
