Romania: Bible in a Kit

During the pandemic, Global Mission pioneers and volunteers in Buhuşi, Romania, have been handing out kits that have a protective mask, hand sanitizer, and a Bible.

One kit was given to Radu. He was known in his town as a violent man and had even been in prison. Cristina, a Global Mission pioneer and Radu’s neighbor, offered him a kit. Radu gave it to his wife, who set it aside and forgot about it.

When authorities restricted the town residents from leaving their homes a few weeks later, Radu noticed the Bible in the kit. He had nothing else to do, so he picked it up and began to read. This first step changed his life. When he didn’t understand something, Cristina was there to provide answers.

After the restrictions eased, Radu went walking one Friday evening. Passing the Adventist church, he heard music and it drew him in. He felt immense peace as soon as he walked inside. He and wife started attending church and joined a Bible study. In 2021, they were baptized and became members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
